Is it possible to get an excellent electric shaver that is cheap and convenient for traveling?
Most cheap electric shavers are created to meet the basic requirements without bells and whistles, For travelers, they offer portability without any hassles. Such shavers may not perform like the top range shavers but if your know what you need, and do your research, it is possible to get a good and cheap shaver to suit.
Whenever travel is involved, we intuitively look for convenience, lightweight, portability, hassle free etc. This holds true even when we are looking for an electric shaver to take on the road. We simply want it to be as light and convenient as possible.
Most portable electric shavers are cheap but they may not deliver the desired shaving result for everyone, because variations in hair thickness and skin types drastically alter the needs of each person.
Though it is a little tricky to recommend the same shaver for everyone, we have a list of shavers generally recommended for travel where most users are quite happy with the overall result. Most shavers share similar performance, and the differences in the overall results of these shavers are negligible. Here, we are talking about the best, cheap shavers on the market that suit the travel requirements.
There are two types of travel shaver we want to consider:
• Travel shavers with AA battery operation
• Electric shavers for travel with rechargeable battery.
Portable Travel shavers,-AA battery operated
Panasonic ES3831k Single Blade Travel Shaver
If you have been using a high-end shaver, you are aware that great shaves come with a price tag.
This is a different market.
Priced below $20 you can’t ask for more. This is in fact cheaper than other replacement blades for most of the shavers in the market but unbelievably very tough and remarkably provides an excellent shaver for sensitive skin.
Though it may not be packed with extra features, this Panasonic shaver is a great travel companion without ignoring the issue of sensitive skin. This shaver features hypoallergenic blades and foil made of stainless steel to deliver irritation free shaves.

Unlike other cheap shavers, it also features floating heads that adjust to the contours of your face. This wet and dry travel shaver gives a smoother shave with a motor speed of 8500.
This foil is designed to catch short hair, as it doesn’t come with a system to capture longer hair. This shaver can even be reasonably used for everyday shaves for those of you with thin hair growth and who prefer to clean up early stubble regularly.
Braun M90 washable Mobile Shaver
Most commonly preferred portable travel shavers come with an AA battery, because it is pretty simple and straightforward to have a shaver without the need for recharging, wherever you are.
Another shaver priced around $20, the Braun M9 shaver is doing pretty well; it is skin friendly, gives a comfortable shave, light and convenient at the same time.

This shaver gives a better result for those of you with a thin beard. It is intended to be used regularly, before your beard gets really thick. This is a rescue shaver in the absence of a high-end shaver. However, if you have a really thick beard, our opinion is to step up one level higher and get a mid level that will serve your travel needs.
This wet and dry shaver has a side trimmer for moustache and sideburn touch up. When you fold the cap to safely store it away, and to avoid damage to the shavers’ screen, it automatically locks and prevents accidental activation during travel.
Phillips Norelco PQ208/40 travel electric shaver
Phillips has one of the most compact travel shavers with two independent floating heads, each with self-sharpening blades. This beautifully designed, easy to hold shaver is effortless to add to your baggage anytime.
The shaver focuses entirely on the needs of the traveler’s convenience, ignoring extra features like a trimmer or wet and dry functionality.

This shaver is cheaper still and is truly a value for money travel shaver which can also be used as a back up for quick shaves at home or at work. In fact this shaver is quieter than its competition and gives a close and irritation free shave. This shaver was released as direct competition to the other manufacturers specializing in inexpensive/cheap shavers.
This is truly an alternative to the three head Norelco shavers for travel; the advantage being it more easily reaches the more difficult to get at spots, and it is lighter and more compact to carry around.
Electric Shaver for Travel with Rechargeable battery
Remington R-91 Head Rotary Rechargeable Travel Shaver
This shaver is the number 1 best selling Remington shaver in Europe. This rechargeable Remington shaver is a little pricier than the AA shavers we have just recommended, but still inexpensive.
I would always recommend an AA battery operated shaver for travel. However, if you want to go for a shaver with a rechargeable battery, this Remington shaver would serve your needs It features double track cutters to give an efficient cut at single pass and independent floating heads to adjust to the shapes and contours of your face.

I would recommend this only if you prefer a two headed shaver over three heads. for convenient and easy shaves, as most rechargeable electric shavers are bulky. We always prefer a lighter one whenever we are on the go.
Tips for men with thick beards
Everybody wants to travel light, however these shavers may not be the best to deal with a tough beard, even if portability and convenience is what you are looking for. If you have a thick beard and do not intend to shave everyday (accumulation of thick growth makes the job tougher), you may simply want to upgrade to a higher level shaver and accommodate a shaver that’s little bulkier, and comes with a rechargeable battery unless you are going somewhere where electricity is not available.
